General Measures Ensuring fat restriction in diet.Alcohol is forbidden.
   
Follow Up Persistent rise in amylase weeks after subsidence of acute attack calls for imaging studies to look for pseudocytes.
   
Inadequate Response Rule out complications like pseudocysts, abscess, obstruction, portal/splenic vein thrombosis.
   
Prevention Abstinence from alcohol .Correct underlying like pseudocyst. hyperlipidaemia. Hyperparathyroidism etc. .
