BETNESOL ½ tds Syp. Incremin tsp bd if anemic. Treatment of established weakness: Syp. B-plex tsp bd x 3 months Gentle massage with Narayan oil. Faradic current stimulation and physiotherapy during first 6 months. Teach the parents to flex and extend oil the joints from hips to toes through their full range, x several times x atleast 2-3 times per day x to prevent contractures. Later, Refer the child to a orthotic centre for leg splints or corrective shoes. The most important role of general practioners is to educate every family and immunize every child against polio in the 1st year of life. Do not give gluteal injections to children with fever during June-July. If polio is developing, you will unnecessarily get the blame.
