Indication & Dosage
 
 
Parenteral
INFECTIONS CAUSED BY SUSCEPTIBLE BACTERIA INCLUDING PSEUDOMONAS SPP.
Adult: As sodium: 2-4 g daily in 2 divided doses, increased to 12 g daily in 2-4 divided doses for severe infections given as deep IM or IV infusion.
   
Precautions History of penicillin allergy; renal or hepatic impairment; pregnancy, lactation; cystic fibrosis.
   
Potentially Life-threatening 
Adverse Drug Reactions
Skin rash, urticaria; eosinophilia, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting; phloebitis; hypoprothrombinaemia; superinfection.
   
Adverse Drug Reactions Neuromuscular hypersensitivity; nephrotoxicity.
   
Interactions Disulfiram-like reaction with alcohol. Potentiates anticoagulants.
