Indication & Dosage
 
 
Oral
PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF MOTION SICKNESS
Adult: 50-100 mg given at least 30 min before traveling.
 
Oral
PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF MOTION SICKNESS
Child: 6-12 yr: 25-50 mg; 2-6 yr: 12.5-25 mg. Doses can be repeated every 6-8 hr. Max: 2-6 yr: 75 mg/day and 6-12 yr: 150 mg/day.

TREATMENT OF NAUSEA AND VERTIGO CAUSE BY MENIERE'S DISEASE
Adult: 50-100 mg 3-4 times daily.

Administration May be taken with or without food.
   
Precautions Angle-closure glaucoma, urinary retention, prostatic hyperplasia, pyloroduodenal obstruction, epilepsy. Elderly. Tasks requiring mental alertness. Pregnancy.
   
Adverse Drug Reactions Sedation, dry mouth, thickened respiratory tract secretions, tightness of chest, bradycardia followed by tachycardia and arrhythmias, blurred vision, urinary retention, constipation, GI disturbance, blood dyscrasias. Paradoxical CNS stimulation may occur in children and occasionally in adults.
   
Interactions

Potentiates the sedative effects of CNS depressants including alcohol, barbiturates, opioid analgesics, sedatives and neuroleptics. MAOIs, atropine, TCAs enhance antimuscarinic effect. Masks ototoxicity produced by aminoglycoside antibiotics.

Physically incompatible with aminophylline, hydrocortisone, phenothiazines and some barbiturates in solution.
