Child:
1.25 mg/kg 4 times daily, usually given for 2-5 days or up to 10 days for giardiasis. |

Should be taken with food. (Avoid food & beverage containing tyramine or tryptophan, eg alcohol, beer (incl alcohol-free beer), cheese, yoghurt. See lit for complete list.) |

Pregnancy, lactation, G6PD deficiency. |

Hypersensitivity, hypoglycaemia, orthostatic hypotension, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, malaise, nausea, vomiting, rash, fever, arthralgia, brown urine, haemolytic anaemia |

Agranulocytosis. Hypertensive crisis with MAOIs. |

Interactions |
Disulfiram-like reaction with alcohol. Potential hypertensive crisis with sympathomimetics, tyramine-containing foods, levodopa. |
