May cause oesophageal obstruction and faecal impaction. Taken with fluid and not immediately before going to bed.
Adverse Drug Reactions
Abdominal fullness, distention, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, flatus; ingestion of dry nonexpanded glucomannan can cause oesophageal obstruction.
Interactions
Since this reduces fasting blood glucose, insulin or oral hypoglycaemic dose should be properly titrated. It may affect absorption of vitamins B12 and E.
