Indication & Dosage
 
 
Oral
TREATMENT OF GI SYMPTOMS CAUSED BY REDUCED GI MOTILITY (GASTRIC FULLNESS, EPIGASTRIC PAIN, ANOREXIA, HEARTBURN, REGURGITATION, BLOATING, NAUSEA AND VOMITING)
Adult: 150 mg /day in 3 divided doses. Reduce dose depending on the patient’s age and symptoms.
   
Administration Should be taken on an empty stomach (i.e. At least one hour before food or four hours after food). (Take before meals.)
   
Precautions Pregnancy, elderly.
   
Potentially Life-threatening 
Adverse Drug Reactions
Rash, diarrhoea, constipation, abdominal pain, headache, sleeping disorders, dizziness, galactorrhea, gynecomastia.
   
Adverse Drug Reactions Leucocytopenia.
   
Interactions Anticholinergic agents reduce the action of itopride.
