Precautions |
Renal failure, DM, children, pregnancy and lactation. May mask symptoms of hyperthyroidism and hypoglycaemia. Avoid abrupt withdrawal. |

Potentially Life-threatening
Adverse Drug Reactions |
Concurrent use with verapamil may precipitate heart failure in patients with impaired left ventricular function. Simultaneous withdrawal of atenolol and clonidine may result in severe rebound hypertension. |

Adverse Drug Reactions |
Fatigue, cold extremities, bradycardia, heart failure, headache, dizziness, hallucinations, confusion and sleep disturbances. |

Interactions |
Disopyramide when given in combination with atenolol depresses myocardial contractility and may precipitate cardiac failure. Efficacy may be antagonised by NSAIDs |
