Adult:
As hydrochloride: 10-20 mg 3 or 4 times daily. |

PROPHYLAXIS OF ARRESTED PREMATURE LABOUR |
Adult:
As hydrochloride: 30-90 mg daily in divided doses. |

Intravenous |
PREMATURE LABOUR |
Adult:
As hydrochloride: 200-500 mcg/min as infusion; adjust according to response until control is achieved. |

Intramuscular |
TREATMENT OF CEREBRAL AND PERIPHERAL VASCULAR DISEASE |
Adult:
For subsequent treatment when labour has been arrested: As hydrochloride: 10 mg every 3-8 hr for several days. |

Administration |
May be taken with or without food. (May be taken w/ meals, milk or antacids to minimise GI discomfort.) |

Precautions |
Pregnancy and lactation. |

Adverse Drug Reactions |
Hypotension, dizziness, palpitation, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distress, severe rash, flushing, tachycardia. Maternal pulmonary oedema and foetal tachycardia (IV). |
